"TK Park Phayao: the First Living Library on the Banks of Kwan Phayao is Now Open"
TK Park Phayao, the first living library in Phayao province, officially opened its doors. Located on the bank of the Kwan Payao, this initiative aims to increase access to learning opportunities for the local community, ignite creativity, and support the development of lifelong learning skills for children, youth, and adults in Phayao City, which has been chosen as a learning city network of UNESCO. The project is a collaboration between Phayao Municipality, Phayao University, and TK Park.
The creation of TK Park Phayao is a significant step in driving the province towards becoming a lifelong learning city. The learning space has been designed to be a creative and innovative environment for people of all ages, with diverse areas for learning activities such as reading spaces, IT and communication areas, spaces for fun and art and culture activities, as well as activities that promote career development and income generation.
TK Park Phayao aims to provide comprehensive access to learning resources for the community, with the goal of reducing the knowledge gap and promoting lifelong learning for all. As a member of UNESCO's learning city network, the project embodies the values of creating sustainable and equitable learning opportunities for everyone.
Within the Phayao Learning Park, there are various facilities, including the Living Library, which provides more than 3,000 books and various media, as well as comfortable seating areas. The Kids Zone is an area designed for children aged 0 - 12, offering over 600 storybooks and a wide range of educational toys. The Phayao Learning City Room showcases community involvement in the development of Phayao as a learning city. The Co-Working Space is a place for exchanging knowledge, meetings, group study, and group work, while the IT Corner provides high-speed internet services for online research. The TK Cafe offers food and drinks, and innovative robots from ADVANCED WIRELESS NETWORK CO.,LTD. are also used to facilitate and enhance users' experiences.
On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Phayao Learning Park, there was a collaboration with Phayao University, Program Management Unit on Area Based Development, Equality Education Fund, the Phayao Provincial Administration Organization, and related agencies. They held the Phayao Learning City Fest & Forum 3 event, which showcased the achievements of the network community, private sector businesses, and the general public. The event featured robotics competitions and activities inside the children's library.
